Your job is to directly work with Scouts, helping as directed by the Scoutmaster. You attend regular Thursday night meetings. ASMs can be male or female, but must be at least 18 years of age. You are expected to attend weekend camp outs when available.
Your assist with back-end operations and interface with parents. You attend regular Thursday night meetings, sitting in the back room along with other committee members. You are expected to attend and report on your position at the monthly committee meeting. When asked, you sit on Scout Boards of Review for rank advancement, and also on Eagle Boards of Review. Committee positions include Committee Chair, Advancement Chair, Camping Chair, Treasurer, Training Chair, Fundraising Chair and Secretary. You are expected to attend weekend camp outs when available. Merit Badge Counselor
The merit badge counselor is one of the coolest jobs in Scouting. These volunteers introduce Scouts to a topic about which they are passionate and knowledgable. At the very least, a merit badge counselor helps a young man earn a merit badge for his sash and get one step closer to the next rank. At the most, a merit badge counselor introduces a young man to a subject that could become a lifelong hobby or career.
