Every year the troop participates in several fundraisers. Scouts and their parents are expected to participate.
Popcorn: Boy Scout popcorn is sold every fall during October and November. Scouts sells to friends and family; Show and Sell events are also scheduled at least one weekend, where Scouts sell outside a local store like Publix or Lowes.
Holiday Wreaths: The troop also sells beautiful holiday wreaths in a variety of styles and price points, as well as holiday table decor, during October.
The proceeds from popcorn and holiday wreath sales go directly to offset the cost of summer camp. Thanks to both of these fundraisers, parents enjoy a sizable deduction in the overall cost, making it easier to send their sons to summer camp.
Pine Bark Mulch: each spring the troop sells large bags of pine bark mulch. Orders are taken January through February. Scouts deliver the mulch themselves in March.
The proceeds from mulch sales offset the cost of High Adventure summer camp. The entire troop participates in the sales of popcorn, wreaths and mulch, whether they plan on attending summer camp or High Adventure camp. When Scouts help one another, they help the troop as a whole.
